BROWS
After the Appointment
Right after Appointment: Wipe brows thoroughly with provided wipes every 1/2 hour for 2 hours after the procedure. The purpose of this is to remove lymph fluid and pigment build up in order to prevent scabbing.
Day 1 - Day 10 (AM & PM): Begin by washing your hands, then gently wipe with a damp cotton round (using lukewarm distilled or bottled water). Wipe in the direction of the hair growth and avoid excessive scrubbing. Let them dry completely (blot with paper towel or fan with hands), then apply a very small amount of the ointment I provide. Be extra careful handling them during the flaking stage.

FOR THE FIRST 10 DAYS (or until done flaking)
-
Nothing on brows aside from aftercare (including makeup)
-
Keep your brows as clean and dry as possible - only touch with freshly washed hands
-
No intense exercise or sweating
-
Use a clean pillowcase, try to sleep on back
-
No swimming/submerging your face in water
-
Keep your brows dry in the shower, limit steam exposure
-
No sun exposure* - wear a hat if you’re going to be outside (no sunscreen until they're fully healed)
-
No picking or scratching (this can cause scarring and pigment loss)
-
No retinol or other exfoliating products on forehead
-
No tinting, waxing, or facials
-
No chemical peels or laser treatments at least 30 days post procedure

*A quick tip for optimal longterm retention - always protect your brows from the sun! Whether that's wearing a hat, SPF, or both, the sun is one of the biggest factors in tattoos fading. And remember to reapply!

LIP BLUSH
Before the Appointment
-
No intense exercise or sweating the day of your appointment
-
No caffeine or alcohol 24 hours prior to appointment
-
No blood thinners (ibuprofen aspirin, niacin), Vitamin E or Fish Oil 48 hours prior
-
No tanning or intense sun exposure 5 days before appointment.
-
Cold sores can happen during healing - not everyone gets them, but if you are prone to getting them, I highly suggest taking an antiviral medication (such as Acyclovir or Valacyclovir) 3-5 days before and after the appointment
-
If you bruise easily, you may take arnica supplements to help with swelling and bruising 3-5 days before and after the appointment (oral or topical okay prior to appointment, oral only post-appointment)
-
Drink lots of water for 7 days prior to the appointment (as well as during healing) - the more hydrated your lips are, the better the results
-
Exfoliate your lips for 7 day prior to the appointment to ensure there’s no dry skin (can be store-bought or homemade with brown sugar and olive or coconut oil)
-
Stop the use of AHA products and retinoids near the mouth at least 2 weeks prior to appointment
-
No chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or laser treatments near or on the lips 4 weeks prior
-
No lip filler within 8 weeks of the appointment (minimum, ideally 12 weeks)
LIP BLUSH
After the Appointment
-
Blot the area every 30-60 minutes with a provided wipe. This clears the area of any fluid/lymph trying to form a scab. Continue this for the rest of the day or until the fluid has stopped surfacing.
-
Before going to bed on the first night, clean lips with provided wipe and apply aftercare ointment. Apply ointment often for the next 7 days - don’t let lips dry out and do not rub lips together.
-
Your lips will flake for a couple of days beginning around days 2-4. Let the flakes come off naturally and do not pick - this could pull out pigment prematurely.
- FOR THE FIRST 7 DAYS -
-
Drink all liquids through a straw
-
Do not bite into foods (cut into bite size pieces)
-
Do not pick or rub
-
No soaps or chemicals on lips
-
Do not smoke.
-
Do not get lips wet- limit showers to 5 minutes
-
No sweating or intense exercise
-
Do not apply makeup or chapstick
-
Avoid Retinol and AHA's near lips
-
No direct sun or tanning beds for at least 2 weeks. (tanning fades pigment)
-
No chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or laser treatments 4 weeks prior
** Please note that the pigment usually fades about 50% within the first 5 days and remains in the “light phase” for at least 30 days, if not longer. The color will resurface around 6-8 weeks, just in time for your touchup appointment! Lip blushing is a 2-step process and you should not expect to see full results after one session.**
